Freedom Real Estate and Capital, LLC, provides a matching gift for the HudsonAlpha Foundation’s Annual Fund summer appeal

The HudsonAlpha Foundation is excited to announce a $10,000 matching gift from Freedom Real Estate and Capital, LLC, to the Annual Fund was exceeded! Each contribution to the Annual Fund made by July 31 was doubled, multiplying the impact individual donors have when making a philanthropic donation. Thank you to everyone who contributed to the Annual Fund and helped us meet our match!

Gifts made to the Annual Fund support unrestricted resources that are vital for many programs on HudsonAlpha Institute for Biotechnology’s campus, including genomics research, STEM education, and the Smith Family Clinic for Genomic Medicine.

The Smith Family Clinic is a nonprofit genetics clinic that uses genetic testing to uncover important medical information for patients and physicians. Over the last year, the Smith Family Clinic has rapidly grown to meet healthcare needs for our community and throughout Alabama, relying on philanthropy to support these services.

In 2023, the clinic doubled the amount of patients served in the previous year and received referrals from over 100 medical practices. The clinic reached patients in 31 counties in Alabama, from children who struggle with undiagnosed conditions to adults seeking to identify the most effective medications for them.
