The Connections Young Professionals group at HudsonAlpha provides a space for young people in our community to engage hands-on with HudsonAlpha’s mission

As Huntsville and North Alabama grow, the region is home to a growing number of young professionals who are eager to get involved and make a difference in the community. HudsonAlpha Institute for Biotechnology offers these young professionals a way to unite around a shared passion for science and a desire to support important scientific, educational, and healthcare initiatives in our community through the HudsonAlpha Foundation’s Connections group.

Connections members hail from diverse industries across the community, from finance to technology and healthcare, and are united by a drive to support HudsonAlpha’s mission of advancing scientific research, STEM education, and clinical services. Through quarterly meetings, these young community leaders receive updates about the latest in HudsonAlpha’s transformational work, empowering them to serve as advocates for HudsonAlpha among their own networks.

Headed up by Ali Udall, HudsonAlpha Major Gifts Officer, the Connections group aims to build a deep sense of community surrounding HudsonAlpha by sparking meaningful relationships between young professionals and HudsonAlpha’s own faculty and staff.

Over the last year, Connections members have enjoyed exclusive hands-on experiences with HudsonAlpha’s mission. Members aren’t just informed about HudsonAlpha’s programs—they’re immersed in them as they hear from HudsonAlpha scientists, program leaders, and clinicians who lead important work in cancer research, agriculture science, and clinical genetic testing services.

“By fostering connections between young professionals and HudsonAlpha, the Connections group plays a crucial role in promoting scientific discovery and education while strengthening bonds within our community,” says Udall. “We’re excited to be able to bring passionate people together to achieve something bigger than ourselves.”
